Variações portrays the life of António Ribeiro, barber and figure of the Lisbon nightlife in the late 1970s, pursuing his dream of becoming a singer and songwriter, despite the fact he did not know a single musical note.
The film focuses on his transformation process into the persona of António Variações, an eccentric and popular artist whose meteoric career was cut short by his death in 1984.
Variações is a tribute to all those who still pursue their dreams, aspiring to transform their lives.
